Acer expanded its thin-and-light laptop portfolio at IFA 2026 with two new models: the Swift Air 16 and Swift Blade 14. Both laptops combine Intel’s latest processors with premium display options, though only one may eventually reach U.S. stores.
Acer Swift Air 16 Combines a Large Display With a Slim Design
Despite its “Air” branding, the Acer Swift Air 16 is not the lightest laptop in its category. It weighs 3.3 pounds, or about 1.5 kilograms. However, its aluminum chassis remains impressively thin, measuring approximately 0.52 to 0.53 inches.
Acer will offer the laptop in three finishes: Elemental Blue, Sage Green and Sandstone Gold.
The headline display option is a 16-inch, 3K OLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This configuration should appeal to users working with video, images and other visual content, while also delivering smoother scrolling and media playback.
Acer will also sell a more conventional IPS touch-screen model with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels.
Intel Wildcat Lake Processors Power the Swift Air 16
The Swift Air 16 uses Intel Core Series 3 processors, code-named “Wildcat Lake.” The chips provide conventional computing performance alongside neural processing capabilities for AI-assisted features in Windows 11.
The highest-end configuration includes an Intel Core 7 350 processor and delivers up to 40 trillion operations per second, or TOPS, across the entire system.
However, Acer does not list the laptop as a Copilot+ PC. Microsoft’s certification requires at least 40 TOPS from the dedicated neural processing unit alone, rather than the combined performance of the processor, graphics and NPU components.
The laptop supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x memory and includes up to 512GB of onboard storage. Users can upgrade the system with a solid-state drive offering up to 1TB of capacity.
Quad Speakers and Fast Charging Add Everyday Convenience
For video calls and biometric security, the Swift Air 16 features a 1080p full-HD infrared webcam that supports Windows Hello facial recognition.
A quad-speaker system with DTS Virtual:X spatial audio is designed to improve sound quality for streaming, presentations and entertainment.
Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A port and a 3.5mm combination audio jack. A 70-watt-hour battery powers the laptop and supports fast charging, reaching 50% capacity in approximately 30 minutes.
Acer Swift Blade 14 Prioritizes Ultralight Portability
The Swift Blade 14 is the more portable of Acer’s two new laptops. It weighs just 1.76 pounds, or 799 grams, and measures approximately 0.51 inches thick.
Acer achieved the low weight through a hybrid construction that combines a magnesium-aluminum alloy keyboard deck with carbon-fiber top and bottom covers. The laptop will be available in Marshmallow White and Marshmallow Blue.
Designed for mobile productivity and visual work, the Swift Blade 14 offers a 14-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,880 by 1,800 pixels. The panel runs at up to 90Hz and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making it suitable for color-sensitive creative tasks.
Similar Processing Hardware in a Smaller Chassis
Like the Swift Air 16, the Swift Blade 14 runs on Intel Core Series 3 processors. It includes 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and supports up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage.
The laptop has three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, dual digital microphones and a full-HD webcam. A physical switch mounted on the side of the device allows users to disable the camera for added privacy.
Its 50-watt-hour battery also supports fast charging.
U.S. Availability Remains Unclear
Acer confirmed that the Swift Blade 14 will launch across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in December 2026. The company did not announce North American pricing or availability, raising the possibility that U.S. consumers may not receive the ultralight model.
The Swift Air 16 and Swift Blade 14 demonstrate Acer’s two-pronged approach to premium mobility: a larger laptop with stronger multimedia features and a compact model focused on minimum weight. U.S. buyers will need to wait for Acer to confirm which configurations will be available domestically.
