Brazilian writer Adelia Prado has won the 2024 Camões Prize, the Minister of Culture announced on Wednesday in a statement sent to newsrooms.

According to the jury, “Adélia Prado is the author of a highly original work, spanning decades, with an emphasis on poetic production. The writer was born in Divinopolis, Minas Gerais, in 1936, and obtained a degree in philosophy.
