sHave you ever walked into an Airbnb home and worried that the host might set up hidden cameras to monitor you during your stay? Well, the company behind the short-term rental platform has shared new rules prohibiting the use of this type of equipment.
The new rules were announced on Monday, 11 January, and completely prohibit the use of cameras and other devices of this type inside homes listed on Airbnb – with the company noting that this is a measure “Prioritizing community privacy”.
“Our goal is to create new, clearer rules that give our community greater clarity about what to expect on Airbnb. These changes were made after consultation with our guests, hosts, and privacy experts, and we will continue to listen to feedback to help ensure our policies are successful for our global community.said one Airbnb executive Official publication Blogs.
It is worth noting that although security cameras are not allowed inside homes, Airbnb continues to approve the integration of cameras into entrance doorbells as well as devices that analyze noise.
