Dubai-based Emirates Airlines announced a 60% increase in its annual profits to 17,230 million dirhams (4,314 million euros) in the last fiscal year ending on March 31. This result prompted the CEO to decide to give a bonus to the workers.

In recognition of its financial success, Emirates Airlines and its CEO, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, announced a bonus equivalent to 20 weeks' salary for its employees, which will be paid in the May payroll, The Economista revealed.

Furthermore, the Emirates Group, the airline's parent company, announced record annual profits of AED 18.7 billion (€4,682 million), an increase of 71%. The group also announced that it would pay a dividend of 4 billion dirhams (1,001 million euros) to its owner, Dubai's sovereign wealth fund.

Meanwhile, Emirates' workforce grew by 10% last year, reaching a record 112,406 employees. Emirates plans to hire thousands of new professionals, including cabin crew, pilots, engineers, customer service staff and IT specialists.

Last year, more than 50,000 Emirates employees received 24 weeks of bonuses in May 2023.
