Who has never parked their car and on the way back lost track of exactly where they left their car? With fewer and fewer parking spaces and more cars occupying the spaces, we put the car away and don’t always pay the necessary attention. How can we use the technology in our pockets to help us?

A few days ago I parked the car in a park, like everyone else in the park, and went on with my life, not least because it was already close to the appointed time.  In my haste, passing from street to street, I momentarily forgot exactly where I had parked.
Well, on the way back I still did the opposite, but with so much gardening around an area I had to ask my smartphone for help.  In fact, although I knew this feature existed, I never resorted to it.
Our proposal today is to show that some solutions, such as Google Maps and Apple Maps, allow us to record the location of our vehicle.  In addition, there are other third party apps that also record location and allow us to take you there.

Google Maps
This is probably the easiest and fastest to use because it is there for Android and iOS.  Many users of Apple's operating system prefer it, at the expense of the Cupertino company's native software.
So if that's the option, open the Google Maps app to help you find your car, although some of the steps differ slightly between iOS and Android.  Once your car is parked, open Google Maps on your phone and tap on the blue pin that represents your current location (and parking location), then tap on the option Save parking To add a destination on the map.

Android users can also enter notes with more detail about their location and even set a specific number of hours and/or minutes they want to stop, which can come in handy if you're parked a meter away.  You can also click Share if you want to share your location with someone else or just send it to yourself.
Now, when it's time to get back to your parked car, you have your location marked on a map.  Just tap the pin, choose directions, and start getting turn-by-turn directions to your vehicle.

Apple Maps
Before you can use iOS Maps to find your parking spot, you need to adjust some settings first.  go to definitions > Privacy and security > Site services > system services > important places.  Make sure that all of these sites are active.  You will be asked for Touch ID or Face ID.
Now go to definitions > maps > parking place.  Activate this option.
Once this is done, when you park the car somewhere and leave it, you will be able to return to the location of the car where you left it parked.  your iPhone It will do this automatically if you connect it via Bluetooth or CarPlay.  When you disconnect from your car, your phone should display a notification that the Maps app has created or dropped a pin to show you where you parked.
If the notification doesn't appear, you're not using CarPlay, or your phone isn't connected via Bluetooth, open the Apple Maps app, find the blue Parked Car pin on the map, then tap it.  If you don't see it, type "car parked" in the search field and the car's location will appear.

Click the Edit Location button to view an image of the area around your vehicle.  You can also create a note with more details and click the "Add Photo" button to take a photo of your vehicle and your location.
When you need to find your car, open Maps and tap the Park Car pin.  Select Directions, then click Go to follow driving directions to your parked car.
So, whether you have an Android smartphone or an Apple phone, both are well-equipped with native software to help you locate a parking spot and help you get to it.
