Another Chinese brand is on its way to Portugal.

The Automobile Industrial Group has signed an exclusive agreement to import Forthing models, Dongfeng brand.

The increase in tariffs applied to electric cars produced in China does not appear to be a barrier to new brands entering the market. Forthing is the next Chinese car brand heading to Portugalwith the Industrial Automotive Group as the exclusive importer.

This Portuguese group, which is one of the main operators in the automotive distribution sector in Portugal, has a history spanning more than a century and will ensure the import of Forthing through its subsidiary Solmotor, Lda.

Forthing is an automobile brand under Dongfeng Group, one of the largest Chinese automobile manufacturers, with an annual output of more than one million units. Over the past few years, Forthing has been heavily committed to developing new electric or electrified models.

“We are convinced that the conditions necessary for Forthing’s success in the Portuguese market have been met. The importation of this brand represents an important milestone in the company’s path and an important step in the implementation of its vision for the future.

© Forthing The Forthing Friday EV is one of the brand's latest models that will be making its way to the European market.

Through this partnership, the brand will have access to a comprehensive distribution network in Portugal. According to Alfredo Leite Santos, Member of the Board of Directors, this partnership aims to promote sustainable growth over the coming decades.
