Apple launches new iPads. The Pro model has a “chip” to handle artificial intelligence

Apple unveiled two new iPads on Tuesday, two years after the last launch. In the online launch titled “Let Loose,” Apple revealed new features such as a larger screen size for the iPad Air, a new design for the iPad Pro, and a new “chip,” the M4, equipped to handle “artificial intelligence” software. .

The new iPad Air now comes in two sizes, with an 11-inch screen and a 13-inch screen, and is a cheaper and lighter alternative to the Pro model and with a new “chip”, the M2, which is an update compared to the previous 2022 model. Which contains M1.

As a result of this change, the price of the simplest 10th generation iPad is expected to reach 349 euros, 100 euros less than the current price of 449 euros.

The iPad Pro is undergoing aesthetic changes for the first time since 2018, with a thinner model, an OLED display – which means that colors will be more reliable and more realistic – and a faster M4 “chip”, already equipped for AI-related tasks, and 50% faster than the M2 used Currently in this type of equipment.

The new iPad Pro model will also have a 13-inch version, which the brand says is Apple's thinnest device ever.

There were also two appendices that underwent changes. The Apple Pencil Pro now has more tactile responsiveness, as well as a gesture that can be made to open the menu. The Magic Keyboard now has an aluminum area to rest your hand on, a larger trackpad with greater touch sensitivity, and a functional column.

This is the brand's attempt to reduce the decline in iPad sales. This was especially evident in the last quarter, when a 17% decline in sales was recorded, which was higher than analyst estimates.

However, Apple's devices remained the world's best-selling tablets, with a 32% market share, according to technology consultancy IDC. In second place was Samsung, with 22%, and Huawei, Lenovo, and Xiaomi made up the top five.
