As they were removing the dirt, they suddenly saw a face staring at them.

The face was so detailed that researchers decided to call in archaeologists to investigate further.

It could be several thousand years.

Experts now believe the stone carving is the work of a stonecutter from the past. In fact, some believe the find may be from the Bronze Age, which lasted from 3300 to 1200 BC.

This is a rare discovery, Sergey Yarygin, a senior researcher at the Alley Margulan Institute, told the Astana Times.

– Finds like this are extremely rare. Similar sculptures have been found in Bronze Age settlements in Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

Similar settlements have also been found in Early Iron Age settlements in southern parts of Siberia, as well as in numerous medieval Turkic settlements scattered across the Eurasian steppe.

Exactly where this stone face came from is a mystery.

The local historical museum has been notified of the discovery, and local authorities are taking care of it.

Sergey Yarygin believes the discovery will cause a stir in academic circles and could lead to larger excavations in the area.
