Asus officially announced the new ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro

Compared to the model already on the market, these two new smartphones have greater performance, as they are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G. Furthermore, the Pro model is clearly aimed at those who don’t want to compromise their game, and features 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. In contrast, the standard model, the ASUS ROG Phone 5s, can feature several RAM and storage configurations: 16/18 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of internal storage.

The two new smartphones have been announced with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FullHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz, but it improves the touch latency which now drops to just 24ms (versus 24.3 of the previous generation) thanks to the 360Hz frequency. This screen also has a fingerprint sensor.

In addition, they have a 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support through a USB Type-C Gen2 port and DisplayPort 1.4, and there is also a 3.5mm audio jack.

For photography, we have a triple rear camera system, where the main sensor has a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 13MP wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 5MP macro sensor with f/2.0 aperture. On the front, we have a 24MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

As for the operating system, it has ROG UI, which is based on Android 11.

The smartphones are available to order in Taiwan as of today, with an actual availability of 24.

• The regular model with 18 GB of internal storage + 512 GB: about 1040 euros at the current exchange rate;
• Pro model with 18 GB + 512 GB internal storage: about 1160 euros at the current exchange rate.
