In a series of posts on Twitter, Khamenei demanded that Sweden hand over those responsible for Thursday’s Quran attack in Stockholm to the legal system in Islamic countries. Khamenei is the spiritual leader of Iran.

He also states that Muslim scholars agree that anyone who breaks the Quran should be given the harshest punishment, and also claims that the Swedish government has declared war on the Islamic world and has “awakened anger and enmity” in all Muslim countries.
Professor of Islamic Theology and Philosophy at Uppsala University, Mehmet Fadlhashmi, describes the war statement as a dangerous development.
– That he directly refers to the Swedish government as guilty and says that through its support for this criminal it declared war a very dangerous statement, he says and compares it to the fatwa against Salman Rushdie.

He also says that there is a great lack of understanding of the connection between bookfires and freedom of expression in the Muslim world.
On Friday, the Iranian Foreign Minister, in a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Tobias Bellstrom, demanded the arrest of those responsible for Operation Al-Qur’an.
