In a match referring to the 15th round of the Brazilian League, Portugal’s Botafogo Luis Castro went to Bragantino to win three points thanks to a 1-0 win.
It was the host team that dominated the first half, had more possession of the ball, and made it difficult for Botafogo, but they got it wrong in the final chapter.
The second half was more lively, with more chances at both ends. In the 61st minute, Artur (Bragantino) scored a goal through a goalkeeper’s hat, but the VAR refused the offer due to offside. The move ended with the awakening of Botafogo, who took the lead four minutes later: Vinicius Lopez took advantage of a losing ball in the area and scored, with a shot into the lower right corner of the goal for Clayton’s goalkeeper.
Nathan (70), after a great header, still celebrated the draw, but after another intervention from the VAR, the goal was disallowed for offside.
In overtime (90 + 5), Eric Ramirez was sent off for kicking the ball against Hugo who was lying on the ground.
Botafogo now has 21 points and is up to ninth, while Bragantino is 14th. Remember that Abel Ferreira Palmeiras is the leader with 29 points.
