Defender Branimir Kalica announced on Tuesday that he had signed with NK Lokomotiva, after his contract with Benfica expired (see related news). Now that his entry to another club has become official, the former Nusour player has left a message saying goodbye to the club he has been associated with since 2016.

After 6 years of serving Benfica, it’s time to say goodbye. I had very good (unforgettable) and less good moments, as is typical in a player’s life. However, the most important thing is that I always gave my best for the club. I played with the best, trained in the best conditions and grew a lot as a player and as a person. Since my arrival I have had tremendous support from the fans both on the street and in the stadium, for which I will always be grateful! Needless to say about the atmosphere on the field… Moments like the goal against Boavista and the party at Marques I will never forget (what a party…) will stay in my mind forever. It was a pleasure to represent the greatest of Portugal. I leave here a special thanks to the management, the staff, the coaching staff and all the coaches and players that I have had the pleasure of living with for the past 6 years, it has been a pleasure!! Now is the time for new challenges…”, the defender wrote via Instagram.
