Palmeiras officially announced on Wednesday the signing of defender Murillo from Lokomotiv Moscow. The 24-year-old has signed a contract with the club coached by Abel Ferreira for five seasons, until the end of 2026.

“I was very happy when the proposal arrived. I accepted it immediately and wanted to come to Sao Paulo as soon as possible to join my teammates,” he said. “I already knew the structure of the club and I am happy to have all this at my disposal. I am sure I made the right decision when I came to Verdau.”

Murillo started with Cruzeiro and left in 2017 for Russian football, and is now back in Brazil, paying tribute to the Portuguese coach’s squad: “I watched several recent Palmeiras matches, I really understood the intensity of the game and I like this style of play.
