Ball – three absolute records in Coimbra (swimming)

Round two of the Junior, Junior and Absolute National Championships featured three absolute national records at the Olympic Swimming Complex in Coimbra. Miguel Nascimento, in the 50 freestyle, Joao Costa, in the 100 backstroke, and Camila Rebelo, in the 100 backstroke, were numbers for the day as they won the finals in a row, with a maximum for Portugal and a minimum for the Europeans and World Cup.

Round two, of the four games that make up this tournament, also featured the junior national record held by Carolina Fernandez in the 100 freestyle swims, a minimum for the European Championship in this category. And Diogo Ribeiro, who yesterday won the 100 freestyle with an absolute record, ahead of Miguel Nascimento, and today he finished second in the 50 freestyle with a national junior and minimum record for Europe and the junior world, after fellow player Benfica.

Portuguese already with a minimum European and World Cup:

Miguel Nascimento (Benfica) in the 50 freestyle for European Roma from 11-16 August and the World Cup in Budapest from 18 June to 3 July.

Diogo Ribeiro (Benfica) in 50 free and 100 free matches for European, international and absolute juniors.

Joao Costa (Vitoria SC) minimum in 100 backstrokes for Europe and the World Cup.

Camila Rebelo (Lausanne) in the 100 backstroke for Europe.

Tamila Holub (SC Braga) in the 1500m for the European Championships in Rome and the World Championships in Budapest.

Ana Catarina Monteiro (Fluvial Vilacondense) at the 200 Mariposa European Championships in Rome.

Carolina Fernandez (Galitos Bresimar) minimum in 50 European junior freestyle.

Kevin Apsinisi (FC Porto) in the European Junior 200 Mariposa.
