Banco Montepio corrects its pension ranking

Published on

After Santander Portugal and BPI, it was Banco Montebio’s turn to adopt the understanding upheld by the courts, thus applying the principle of direct proportionality.

Another bank corrects pension adjustment. This time it was Montebio who recognized the “simple rule of three” in calculating the payment of pensions for bank employees. After the joining of Banco Santander and BPI, announcements were made from banking unions.

“All that is needed is the recognition of Novobanko to restore the injustice that has been going on for several years,” point out the three UGT unions, Mais, SBN and SBC.

The National Union of Banking Staff and Technicians (SNQTB) speaks of “an ever-pioneering perseverance, with the irreplaceable support of our members which has once again paid off”.

This is because Banco Montebio began to adopt the understanding upheld by the courts, thus applying the principle of direct proportionality.

To this extent, Montebio will recalculate the pension to be deducted, correcting the respective values in light of the adjustments made previously.

“The SNQTB salutes Montebio for the action adopted, restoring due justice to the retired employees of the bank who have served the institution for decades with pride and professionalism,” he concludes.
