Bosch Braga shines with world-class innovation presented in Las Vegas

A new and improved security solution, designed specifically for shared mobility services, “RideCare”, by Bosch, was presented for the first time this month at the annual edition of CES Las Vegas, and marked the award for Best Innovation in this category in Vehicle Entertainment and Safety.

Praising the Braga teams, he continues: “In addition, it is also the responsibility of the Made in Portugal talent to manage the installation, technological control and quality of the mobility services provided within the framework of RideCare.”

The Bosch Ridecare solution is based on the participation of Bosch teams in Portugal, namely through technologies developed within the scope of innovation projects implemented in partnership with the University of Minho and the University of Porto.

One of the main solutions previously developed and introduced concerned the inclusion of sensors capable of collecting information so that the vehicle would be able to learn from experience.

In this specific case of the Bosch Ridecare solution, Bosch’s involvement with Braga included the development of an in-vehicle damage detection algorithm.

This algorithm is based on machine learning techniques, which are able to process and display all the information generated by the various sensory systems that monitor the surrounding environment, whether it is the interior space of the passenger compartment or its passengers.

In 2017, Bosch’s contribution to Braga was also essential to the event’s distinction in the “In-car audio / video” category, thanks to the motorcyclist information system developed in Braga, in the then Car e Multimedia da Bosch.

Another Braga project, in the same year, received an honorable mention in the “vehicle intelligence” category, thanks to a solution that connects the smartphone to small motorcycles or scooters, so that in the event of an accident, it issues an alert with the coordinates to a predetermined number.
