Britain warns: – Too involved

Russia on Thursday called the British ambassador to the carpet to protest the country’s alleged support for a Ukrainian attack on the Russian fleet in the Black Sea.

Russia alleges that Britain is training Ukrainian special forces, including in “sabotage operations at sea”, against which Ambassador Deborah Brunert “received a strong protest”.

In an interview with Sky News Russia’s ambassador to the UK, Andrei Kelin, claims that their alleged evidence was handed over to the British ambassador.

– We know it’s done, Keelen replies, when the channel asks for so-called evidence.

He also claims that it will be published “very soon”.

Contributes to escalation

The Russian authorities have repeatedly warned the West about the supply of arms and other forms of support to Ukraine.

The Russian ambassador also took the opportunity in the interview. He claims that the alleged training of the Ukrainians by the British in, among other things, underwater sabotage contributes to the escalation of the situation.

This is actually a warning that Britain is deeply involved in this conflict. This means that the situation is becoming more and more dangerous, he says.

The drone attack on the Russian Black Sea Fleet took place on Saturday in Sevastopol in the Crimea. Russia admitted that one ship was damaged.

The accusations of British involvement came the same day. It was not confirmed by independent sources, and the British authorities flatly rejected it.

The Kremlin also accused the British of being behind the Nord Stream sabotage in September. No evidence is provided here either.

To conceal its disastrous handling of the illegal invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense is resorting to false allegations of epic proportions. The British Ministry of Defense says on Twitter that this made-up story tells us more about what is going on in the Russian government than it does about the West.

Lt. Col. Geir Hagen Carlsen at the Norwegian Defense Academy believes the Russian accusations are an attempt to maneuver a distraction.

He explains the mention of the drone attack in Crimea as massive – and the fact that Russia early acknowledged that a ship was damaged – as follows:

– On the one hand, it is good to provoke a large-scale attack to legitimize what they themselves are doing, and on the other hand, it would be undeniable, if there were many pictures of fires and explosions on social media. Then there are no other options but to blame the Ukrainians, as well as the British, for expressing this with propaganda.
