CAMPOS – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Frederico Rangel, on Thursday (9), in the plenary session of the Campos dos Goytacazes city council, participated in the public hearing on inclusive education. The Under Secretary set the table next to Chancellor Bruno Viana, who is part of the Standing Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and chaired the session. The Undersecretary provided an overview of inclusive education in the municipality’s network. According to Frederico, out of about 54,000 students in the municipal network, about 860 students have some kind of disability. He also reported that the municipal education network has 32 resource rooms that provide educational support during working hours for the comprehensive education of these students.

“Mayor Rosinha, with her sensitivity, in her management, made the first public competition for escort roles, which did not exist. We have implemented training procedures for the qualification of teachers in 32 resource rooms. We have a project to increase the number of resource rooms in school units in the municipal network. The Undersecretary also reported that the 2022 academic year will start on February 2 and that the network includes nearly 5,000 teachers. “In 2021, the network was changed, developed and showed itself as being present for every student in this municipality through many activities, especially with appreciation for the return to school management, which Mayor Vladimir gave this year,” he said.

The Undersecretary also reported that the Interdisciplinary Learning Support Space (EMAA), established by Mayor Rosina Garotinho and currently operating at Seduct’s headquarters, will relocate to an area of ​​the Municipal Education Center of the Sugar Industry Workers’ Federation (Cemstiac). EMMA is formed by a team of speech therapists, psychologists, and psychologists, who help students with learning disabilities.

Counselors Álvaro Oliveira, Bruno Bezao, Fred Machado, Helio Nahim, Leon Gomez, Maicon Cruz, Marcioni da Farmacía and Reverend Marcos Elias, as well as the Minister of Education of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Renan Ferrinha, also participated in the session. , representatives of the Municipal Foundation for Infants and Young People (FMIJ), the Association of Parents of Persons with Special Needs (APAPE), the Association for the Protection and Orientation of the Disabled (APOE), the Association of Parents and Friends of the Disabled (APAE), Educandário for the Blind São José do Oberario, and the Dwarfism Association , the Association of Parents and Friends of the Autistic Person (AMA), and the NGO Sports Without Borders.
