Canada: Ruth Hamilton woke up from a meteor that shattered the roof

Ruth Hamilton had been sleeping for several hours when her barking dog suddenly woke her up. This gave her a little time to wake up, before a meteor flew into the bedroom through the ceiling.

In an interview with Canadian Press She told Hamilton that she experienced it all in the form of an explosion, when the remnants of the roof splattered all over her face.

– I’ve never been afraid in my whole life, she says.

I fell on the pillow

Confused and shocked, Hamilton called 911. During the conversation, she discovered that the meteor, which was the size of a melon, tore through the ceiling and fell on her pillow, only millimeters from where she had been a few moments before.

– I was trembling like a poplar leaf. You lie down and sleep, and you think you’re safe in bed, and it’s clear that you could hit your meteors.

When the police arrived at the scene, the policeman initially believed that this was the result of an explosion at a nearby construction site, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation wrote. CBC.

Scientists confirm: From space

The construction site was contacted, but they did not carry out any bombing work. However, they witnessed a huge explosion in the sky. That was when the puzzle pieces started to snap into place.

Hamilton reported his findings to experts at Western University in London, Ontario. Here she made sure that she had indeed found a stone from space on her pillow.

She now plans to send the stone to them, in the hope that they will be able to determine the type of meteorite in question.

She herself believes that the rock fell from the asteroid belt of the solar system.
