Cars out additional discounts

As we have been informed, discounts on the previous SCUT transit fee are already in effect. The decree regulating the new discount system that will be applied to the various extensions and sub-sections of highways has already been published (see Here).

Light cars from additional discounts and discounts in the previous SCUT are not standardized.

The government has approved an order setting out the new model for a 50% reduction in the value of toll-per-lane tolls in the following highway sections and sub-sections: A22-Algarve;  A23 - IP;  A23 - interior Pera;  A24 North Interior;  A25 - Piras Littoral and Alta;  A28 - North Coast concessions of Greater Porto (A41, A42) and Costa da Prata.
However, the discount system is not standardized and also depends on the type of vehicle.

A4 - Marao Tunnel and 4 - Villa Real Bragança (Quintanilla)
The toll for vehicles of categories 1, 2, 3 and 4, which is levied on the sections and subsections of the highways A 4 - Túnel do Marão and A 4 - Vila Real-Bragança (Quintanilha), is reduced by 15%, without prejudice to the approximation according to to current legislation.
A4 - Marau Tunnel, A4 - Villa Real Bragança (Quintanilla), A13 - Atalaya (A23) - Coimbra Sol and A13-1
The scheme for the discount scheme on tolls for vehicles of categories 1 and 2, applicable to the sections and subsections of highways A 4 - Túnel do Marão, A 4 - Vila Real-Bragança (Quintanilha), A 13 - Atalaia (A 23) - Coimbra Sol and A 13-1:

a) in the first seven days of circulation, on each highway and in each calendar month, consecutively or interpolated: tolls are those in effect at any time;
b) from the eighth day, inclusive, for circulation on each highway and until the end of the respective calendar month: a 25% discount on the value of the toll traffic in force at any time, provided that you have paid at least one flight on each day of the period specified in the previous paragraph.

For vehicles of categories 2, 3 and 4 used in road transport of goods and passengers, there are additional discounts on tolls:

a) On weekdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 59 p.m. (daytime):

b) a 35% discount on tolls on the extensions and sub-sections of the highways A 4 - Túnel do Marão, A 4 - Vila Real-Bragança (Quintanilha), A 13 - Atalaia (A 23) - Coimbra Sul and A 13-1;


b) on weekdays, between 8pm and 7am and 59am (at night), on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays

55% discount on tolls on extensions and sub-sections of highways A 4 - Túnel do Marão, A 4 - Vila Real-Bragança (Quintanilha), A 13 - Atalaia (A 23) - Coimbra Sul and A 13-1.



A22, A23, A24 and A25 Albergaria-Vilar Formoso
For vehicles of classes 2, 3 and 4 used in road transport of goods and passengers:

a) On weekdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 59 p.m. (daytime):

i) a 15% discount on tolls on the extensions and subsections of the highways A 22, A 23, A 24 and A 25 - Albergaria (IP 1) - Vilar Formoso;


b) On weekdays, between 8pm and 7am and 59am (at night), on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays:

b) 40% discount on tolls, for sections and subsections of highways A 22, A 23, A 24 and A 25 - Albergaria (IP 1) - Vilar Formoso;



A4 Sendim-Águas Santas, A17, A25 Aveiro (Barra) -Albergaria, A28, A29, A41 and A42:

b) On weekdays, between 8pm and 7am and 59am (at night), on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays:

1) 30% discount on tolls on the extensions and subsections of highways A 4 - Sendim-Águas Santas, A 17 - Mira-Aveiro Nascente (IP 5), A 25 - Aveiro (Barra)-Albergaria (IP 1), A 28 , A29, A41 - Frexiero Ermida (IC 25) and A42;

To take advantage of the discountsVehicles must be equipped with an electronic device from a collection agency, approved under the Electronic Vehicle Identification System for the payment of tolls.
Passenger and cargo vehicles will have to apply for certification from the Institute of Mobility and Transportation.  Electric cars were to be reduced by 75%, but this measure will not go forward for the time being due to technical issues.
