Presenting itself as a leader in the design, construction and marketing of recreational products, ensuring that it is the world’s largest producer of leisure and pleasure boats – from the Quicksilver and Bayliner brands – Brunswick in North America, which employs approximately 14,000 people and has plants in 24 countries, has decided to strengthen Its industrial commitment is in Portugal, where it operates a factory in Vila Nova de Cervera.
Ten years after taking charge of rebuilding one of the industrial buildings in the Brunswick complex in Cervera, builder Garcia Garcia was once again chosen by the American multinational to take on the project to expand its facilities, by building a new factory ship.
“This project, which reflects the dynamism and competitiveness revealed by Brunswick Portugal, aims to ensure an effective increase in installed capacity with the aim of consolidating its market leadership,” Miguel Garcia, director of the construction company from Guimarães, says in a statement.
The expansion work of the complex, which is “scheduled to be completed in June next year”, includes the demolition of an existing building and the construction of a new building adjacent to the company’s existing facilities.
The new building will add a total area of 5,200 square meters, of which 4,000 will be used to support production, and 1,200, on the upper floor, will be occupied by the administrative and social areas.
“In addition to the construction of the new industrial facility, the builder is doing some improvement work on existing facilities, with the goal of improving production operations and facilities in Brunswick,” Garcia Garcia adds.
So far, the company has not yet been able to find out the value of the investment in the expansion of this manufacturing complex and other data on Brunswick’s activity in Cervera.
