At the end of Tuesday afternoon (17) the city of Chapeco announced a new set of measures to intensify the fight against dengue mosquitoes. The municipality recorded 139 new outbreaks last week, reaching 1,331 mosquito outbreaks.

A survey conducted from 3 to 12 November on 3,790 drugs showed that 4% of them were infected. The acceptable limit is 1%. The large number of outbreaks and cases of disease prompted the municipality to take new measures, especially with the advent of summer, when there is an increase in the reproduction of Aedes aegypti.

New actions

  • New reporting channel through the Chapecó Digital app;
  • hiring 12 additional workers to combat endemic diseases;
  • Using a Municipal Guard drone to inspect hard-to-reach places;
  • Involving CHWs in prevention measures;
  • Dengue D-Day, on November 27, by joint efforts in the South and Evabe regions, infestations were recorded on 7.2 and 6.2% of the property, respectively.

Chapeco already recorded 64 positive cases of the disease in 2021.
