Chisaku Kakehi – “Black Widow” is sentenced to death

Japan’s Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of 74-year-old serial killer Chisaku Kakehi, known as “Black Widow.”

She wrote that she was convicted of the murder of three men, including her husband, and attempted murder independent.

The killings took place between 2007 and 2013. Kakehi is said to have poisoned his victims with cyanide and was sentenced to death in 2017.

A merciless crime

Convicted of three murders

Police began investigating the case after Kakehi’s husband died in 2013, less than two months after the wedding.

According to CNN, an autopsy report showed the presence of cyanide in the stomach and blood. Kakei was arrested 11 months later. The man who was previously betrothed to Kakei, who died in a motorcycle accident, also had traces of cyanide in his body.

The ages of all the victims ranged from 50 to 80 years. According to The Independent, six men died while in a relationship with Kakehi. Three of the dead were convicted.

Rich and old men

The serial killer has received a lot of media attention. Kakee was notorious for hunting down wealthy old men, so she got the nickname “Black Widow”, after the poisonous spider that killed her mate after mating.

It is said that Kakehi had an affair with the victims when they were poisoned, after which the inheritance process actually began, according to CNN.

The date of the death sentence is not yet known.

Kahee’s legal team appealed the death sentence, arguing that she suffered from dementia and was unable to attend the trial. writes CNN.

The Supreme Court has now dismissed her appeal, and closed the case on Tuesday, according to Kakhi’s lawyer.
