Chris Jericho talks about Edge’s potential to head to AEW

In recent weeks, many news have emerged indicating the possibility of Edge leaving WWE, in order to move to AEW.

In an interview with Podcast Superstar Crossover, Chris Jericho was asked about the possibility of the “Rated R Superstar” moving to AEW.

Well, I mean, who can say for sure? But if you look at Chris Jericho, for example, where I was in WWE, there wasn’t a lot I could do there. I’ve been there for many years and fought with everyone, which is great. But it’s always good to shock people and come up with a new type of mission.

So I think someone like Edge has a lot of famous wrestlers [na WWE] like him. They did everything they could there. For him to come to AEW with a fresh coat of paint, a new roster and new matches that he can have, obviously a new name, which, knowing him, knowing me, what I’m going to do is a whole new look. A completely new mentality.

That’s the best thing about having AEW and being as successful as we are, is that now there’s a viable alternative, I don’t want to say competitor, because that’s not it, but now you can go to either company.

Edge had his last match under his current contract with WWE on SmackDown on August 18, and he has not yet decided whether to renew it or not.
