The Municipality of Salvador, through the Information Technology Center (NTI) of the Municipal Health Administration (SMS), has developed an application for mapping free medicines in municipal units.

Vida + Cidadão aims to make life easier for users of the Unified Health System (SUS) in the capital of Bahia.

The app also provides information about health services, vaccinations at network locations, monitoring of medical appointments, a virtual SUS card, and even an evaluation of the care received.

The tool was officially launched in 2020, and it has been improved over the years. All information is updated in real time.

According to SMS Undersecretary Desio Martins, the tool is linked to the Mais Cidadão municipal system, and helps prevent fraud and reduce difficulties reported by residents, such as drug shortages at sites.

It highlights “in an easy way and on the Internet, the citizen has at his disposal a list of offered medicines and an indication of the nearest health units to remove the materials, which saves time and money in travel.”

Vida + Cidadão can be downloaded for free on Android or iOS mobile phones.

When downloading Vida + Cidadão, the user will see basic information, such as the virtual SUS card and the location of the health units.

To access more personal information, such as a service history, it is necessary to go to the nearest health unit with the RG to allow access.

It is also possible to carry out the procedure in any of the neighborhoods of City Halls-Neighborhood, upon prior designation by Location. This procedure is to maintain the security and confidentiality of the information.
