The City of São Luis, through the Municipal Health Administration (Semus), will change the capital’s influenza (H1N1) vaccination schedule and testing against Covid-19 on Thursday (3) and Friday (4), at the expense of the Corpus Christie holiday and the optional point in the municipality according to the decree. No. 57.011 dated May 31, 2021.
The care schedule is organized by the Municipal Health Department (Semus) so that people can receive care during the days of the elective point in town. This Thursday (3), tests will be available at select locations. Influenza vaccination will be partially suspended on Thursday (3) and Friday (4) and will return on Saturday (5).
This Thursday (3) and Friday (4), tests for Covid-19 will be available from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. These days, only three sites will carry out the procedure and with a maximum service limit (up to 100 people per day per site): Municipal Mild Influenza Syndrome Care Centers (Claudemir Pinheiro Costa, in Guardian Angel, at José Carlos Health Macieira Center, on Avenida dos Africanos and at the Genésio Ramos Filho Health Center in the Cohab / Anil complex).
On Saturday (5), tests against Covid-19 will be available from 8 am to noon at the following locations: Centro de Saúde Amar, in Rua Deputado Luís Rocha, Vicente Fialho; First Olympic Health Center; Fabisiana Moraes Health Center, Sao Cristovao Center and Laura Vasconcelos Health Center (BR-135, no number, Estiva).
Tests have also begun to be offered, in addition to the sites listed above, initially for health professionals in the São Bernardo mixed unit and in the rural UPA. At a later time, other units will provide the service, including to the general public.
In the case of tests (for people over 18 years of age), an antigen test is performed, which is carried out from a collecting object inserted into one of the individual’s nostrils. After collecting the specified substance, a few drops of its reagent are placed in the appendix and the result appears within 15 minutes. If the test is positive, the user is sent to the central laboratory in São Luis (LACIM), at Rua 23 de Novembro, nº89, Alphard Building, Bairro Camboa.
The antigen test is considered effective, because it is through samples collected through a swab (sterile object in the nose) that the virus can be identified in the initial stage of the disease. The Ministry of Health recommends combining the examination between the third and seventh day of symptoms.
Influenza vaccination will be given on Saturday (5) from 7 am to noon at 16 points of the Saúde na Hora program (based on the São Luis city website). Influenza vaccination is offered to pregnant and postpartum women who have 45 days postpartum, health workers (active and from hospital institutions), seniors aged 60 or over, and teachers from public and private schools. Children aged six months to less than six years (whose parents or guardians have missed a pre-set deadline for vaccination) can also be vaccinated.
