Porsche adds the 911 Carrera T lightweight sports car to the 911 family. The letter “T” stands for “Touring” and describes models that offer a pure driving experience with exceptional sports equipment. Standardly, the 911 T features a seven-speed manual gearbox. It is also available with an eight-speed PDK transmission. The rear seats have been removed. With a 10mm lower PASM sports suspension and lowered insulation, the new 911 Carrera T is the epitome of purity and driving pleasure. You can feel it on the winding mountain roads – and you can hear it too. The sound of the six-cylinder boxer engine now has a stronger presence inside the car.
PASM sports suspension and Sport Chrono package as standard
The new 911 Carrera T is positioned between the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera S. The Carrera T has a twin-turbo engine with a power of 283 kW (385 hp) and 450 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 291 km / h. It also has the standard equipment Carrera S with a Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV)-powered manual transmission with a mechanical rear differential lock. The 911 Carrera T also features a Sport Chrono Package and PASM (-10 mm) sport suspension as standard – features only the Carrera T in combination with the 385 hp engine offer. This is available as an option on the 911 Carrera S. On request, the Carrera T can be ordered with the optional steered rear axle, which is typically reserved for Carrera S and higher models.
Specific equipment for “T” rims includes career path career path 20 and 21-inch wheels in titanium gray, with 245/35 R 20 tires at the front and 305/30 R 21 at the rear. The 911 Carrera T also features a GT sports steering wheel, sports exhaust system, and Sports Plus (four-way, electric) seats as standard. Weighing in at just 1,470 kilograms, the 911 Carrera T, with manual transmission, is lighter than the 911, 35 kilograms lighter than the 911 Carrera with eight-speed PDK as standard. In the 911 Carrera, the manual transmission is no longer available. In addition to neglected rear seats and reduced insulation, lightweight glass and a lightweight battery reduce overall weight.
Successful roaming concept across multiple model lines
The “T” in the Porsche 911 Carrera T designation means “Touring” and traces back to the 911 T’s homologation as a “tourist car” in 1968. The first 911 T was marketed until 1973, and in 2017, Porsche restored a pure copy of the 911 with the 911 Carrera Tv 991 generation. The highlight of the upper and lower frames of the exterior mirrors, the new badging on the doors and the grille and rear grille slats in a contrasting color, is Agate Gray. The windshield also has a gray tint on top. The sport exhaust system ports are in high-gloss black. All these details give the 911 Carrera T a more dynamic and dynamic look.
The sporty character of this version is further enhanced from the inside by the four-way Sport Seats Plus, available as standard. Matte black decorative moldings and gloss black interior inserts complement the interior of the “T”. Customers looking for more exclusivity can opt for the optional Carrera T. Interior package, where seat belts are added in contrasting colors of slate gray or orchid green. These colors are also applied to the decorative upper seams and the embossed 911 logo on the headrests and seat center strips. As an option, the carpet offers logo and topstitching in contrasting shades of slate gray or orchid green.
Small but great selection of options and colors
The 911 Carrera T has adaptive sport plus seats (18-way, electric) as an option, as well as sport and lighter bucket seats with Race-Tex hubs. Also optional is the Carrera T Interior Package with extended use leather. In this case, the armrests on the door panels and center console are also leather, along with the top of the instrument panel and door panel cornices.
The new 911 Carrera T is available in four solid colors, black, white, blush red and yellow, but also in four metallic options, Deep Black, Gentiana Blue, Ice Grey and GT Silver. Available special colors are Chalk, New Star Ruby, Crimson Red, Shark Blue, and Python Green. If desired, 911 Carrera T subscribers can use the Paint to Sample program that allows them to choose a paint job from among more than 110 available colors.
