Do you want to ask a scientist questions and are waiting for an opportunity? That moment has come!

Campus of the National Center for Energy and Materials Research (CNPEM), in Campinas-SP, it will be open at June 17th To welcome anyone who wants to get to know Sirius, one of the most advanced particle accelerators in the world and the only one in Latin America. It will also be an opportunity to take the whole family to participate in the activities scheduled by all the laboratories that make up the center and to conduct research in the areas of biological sciences, nanotechnology, and biomaterials. The event will also include activities from the Engineering and Technology team, as well as from Ilum’s higher education course – CNPEM in Science and Technology.

A social organization under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), CNPEM strives to share enthusiasm for science and is always open to research and dialogue with the community, annually promoting “Open Science”, an event Free (voluntary contribution of 1 kilo of non-perishable food)which seeks to promote science in a broader and more inclusive way, and to encourage scholarly publication and active public participation in the exploration of knowledge.

The event, which was interrupted three years ago due to the pandemic, provides opportunities to get to know scientists working on projects in the most diverse fields of science. The program is designed to facilitate understanding of how experiments are conducted and how modern infrastructure is used to advance the knowledge that drives the development of new technologies, the search for solutions to problems in practically all fields, such as health, energy, food production, the environment, and the development of new materials.
Open Science 2023 will feature 85 interactive activities designed to engage and inspire audiences of all ages. From practical experiments, which illustrate some of the concepts found in the activities carried out in the research laboratories, to the latest technology demonstrations, where participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of science and explore its various fields, such as physics, chemistry, biology, advanced materials and much more.
