President Joe Biden is being reprimanded after making false claims about the effects of the coronavirus vaccine during a visit to Cincinnati.
The United States is once again seeing an increased spread of infection, and President Joe Biden has emphasized on several occasions the importance of vaccinating as many people as possible. He did the same when he visited Cincinnati on Wednesday.
– We now have a pandemic among those who have not been vaccinated. He said it was that simple.
– If you are vaccinated, you will not be hospitalized, you will not end up in the intensive care unit and you will not die, Biden indirectly stated.
It’s not that simple, point out the fact-checkers and critics.
In mid-July, nearly 5,500 fully vaccinated Americans were hospitalized, or all died, after contracting the virus, according to health officials.
That was a relatively small number, given the fact that 159 million Americans were fully vaccinated at the time, but Biden still had to make a reservation, according to fact-checkers.
– 99.5 percent of all deaths from COVID-19 occur among those who have not been vaccinated, stresses Rochelle Wallinsky, chief of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In other words, the vaccine provides no absolute guarantee against infection, serious illness, or death.
