Counter-Strike 2 is coming later this month to the delight of fans

Gamers have surely heard countless times about the virtual launch of Counter-Strike 2. This title already sounds like a legend to fans of the franchise, but it looks like the dream is finally coming true, and faster than we expected.

Over this weekend, rumors about the release of a new CS title gained new strength. All because journalist Richard Lewis released a report that a new game in the series will be released later this month.

Latest in Substack: I’m as surprised as everyone but it turns out that not only is Counter-Strike 2 real but it’s coming out very soon. Sources familiar with the game’s development reveal details of the upcoming beta.https://t.co/ogSk5QnU6L

The Counter-Strike 2 Beta will be released in March or April

According to this famous journalist, Valve is preparing to release a beta version of Counter-Strike 2. This version of the game should reach players in March or April 1 at the latest.

Unless it’s leaving on April 1 well in advance, this is some of the best news for fans of the franchise. Especially for those, like me, who made their first steps into the competitive gaming world with CS 1.6.

Richard Lewis states that many of those who oversaw the development of the first games in this franchise were also involved with this project. Something that helps understand why so many issues are pointed out to CS:GO that still need to be fixed.

It seems that the new Counter-Strike 2 game will be developed using the Source 2 engine. It will contain new technology for creating matches and other technologies that will bring it closer to Valorant.

Support our Richard Lewis claims dropout Gabe continued 2. He claims to have found in the source code for the new NVIDIA drivers a reference to two executable files named “csgos2.exe” and “cs2.exe”.

Apparently, these files belong to the beta version of the game that Valve will make available in the coming weeks. Gabe Follower 2 wonders what it means to have these files in this source code that has nothing to do with developing a new game.

Regarding the name of the new game, there is no consensus yet. If several sources refer to this title as Counter-Strike 2, Gambe Follower 2 does not believe in this possibility, stating that the game will be known as CS: GO Source 2.

The fact is that CS: GO, despite its launch in 2012, is still very popular, especially in the esports community. By the way, the data provided by Steam shows that 2023 is one of the best years ever for this legendary FPS game.
