A well-known decision this Tuesday revealed Porto channel

Three years later, the final decision came on Benfica’s appeal in the email case. In a ruling signed this Tuesday, the judges of the Court of Appeal of Porto confirmed the conviction of FC Porto, despite reducing the fines to be paid by Porto players. News provided by Porto TV.

In the ruling, the Puerto Bento da Costa court and directors Fernando Gomez and Adelino Caldera were acquitted. In relation to FC Porto SAD, Porto Canal and Francisco J. Marques, the court reduced the compensation payable to Benfica from 1.4 million euros. The defendants will have to pay more than 605,000 euros for consequential damages.

Benfica is reported to have accused FC Porto of unfair competition and image damage, within the scope of the disclosure of emails by Francisco J. Marquez on the TV show Universo Porto da Bancada, on Canal Porto, between April 2017 and February 2018.

FC Porto defended being limited to disclosing “information of public interest”, obtained “lawfully, by an anonymous source”.
