A little more than a month after starting his military education, the Danish Prince Felix decided to stop his education at the army lieutenant’s school.
The Danish royal family reported this in the morning hours on Thursday – and the case has been mentioned in many Danish media, among other things. Extra Bladet.
– The reason why the prince is now leaving the school of the lieutenant in the army is private, and therefore the royal house does not want to comment on the decision further, this was stated in the press release issued by the communications department of the Danish royal house.
Prince Felix is the son of Prince Joachim and his first wife, Princess Alexandra. After graduating from high school in June, Prince Felix began his military education in August.
– This is a tradition in our family. My brother tried it and now I want to do it too. I’m not bothered by the fact that he didn’t finish. But I am sure it is the right thing for me, Prince Felix said in June.
Because Felix’s older brother Prince Nikolai could not boast of a long military career. In the fall of 2018, he discontinued his training as a reserve officer after just two months at Vardy Barracks.
Thus, both orders broke the military traditions of the Danish royal family. The father of the princes, Prince Joachim, began his military career in the Regiment of the Queen’s Life in 1987. Today he works as a defense attaché at the Danish Embassy in Paris.
