Benfica’s three Instagram posts regarding Signed by Angel Di Maria – Official acknowledgment, presentation details to the fans at the Estádio da Luz and jersey number – they left not just fans, but current fans (João Mário, Aursnes or Kökçü, for example) and former Eagles players (Nuno Gomes, Grimaldo or Pizzi, currently in Sp Braga, to name a few). Not even club sports have escaped ecstasy, with comments from athletes or coaches from various red teams, such as judokas Rochelle Nunes and Rodrigo Lopez, canoeist Fernando Pimenta or volleyball coach Marcel Matz. Walter “Eddie” Tavares, the Real Madrid basketball star who has already expressed his appreciation to Benfica several times, gave him a “like” in a post. Di Maria put a ‘heart’ into all three of these posts by Benfica, sharing them in his stories. Also noticed was Nicolas Otamendi, who on Twitter shared Benfica’s tweet making Di Maria official and posted the following sentence: “Hello, friend. Towards 39”.
