Drama In Parliament: ‘Sexual Organs’ Surfaced As Community Names

Drama unfold in Parliament when some sensitive sexual organs were used as names of communities in a question post by the member of Parliament for Abirem constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon John Osei Frimpong.

The majority leader insisted the names of the communities could amount to chaos if allow to be mention on the floor of Parliament.

But for the minority leader Haruna Idirisu , the member can not be denied his right by the house for preventing him drom mentioning the names of his communities in a question he had filed.

Ruling on the fate of the MP, the first deputy speaker Joseph Osei-Wusu who was presiding over the house directed that the names be allow to be mention since they’re are only community names.

This was a result of how sensitive the names of some communities appeared in the question filed by the law maker for the people of Abirem seeking from the ministry of energy whether the ministry has plans to provide off-grid electricity to the following communities in the Abirem Constituency which are difficult to connect to the national grid: Akyiri Ahantan, TWENWINSO , ETWE NIM NYANSA, KOTE YE ABOA,HWOA YE MMOBO, Akyekyeresu , Tetteh Brofo , Asarekrom , Alhajikrom and Yaw Broni.

According to the minister, objective of the National Electrification Scheme (NBS) towards the achievement of the universal access is to provide electdcity to all communities either through grid extension or off-grid/mini-grid solutions for remote or island communities.

For the communities in the Abirem constituency which are difficult to be connected to the national grid, the Ministlpossessinglore the possibility of connecting them through off-gn’d or mini-grid solutions.

The Ministry has therefore noted the request and will conduct engineering survey to determine the best means of providing elecm’city to these communities in line with the elecm’lication programme.

Speaking to the chief of the area, Nana Dr Boakye Dakwah iii chief of Pankese said he is impress with answer from the minister for energy Boakye Agyarko for assuring them of electricity.

Also speaking, the acting queen mother Nana Serwaa Asantewa appealed to government to double it’s steps in providing social amenities including electricity.

The member of Parliament has also promised to follow to the ministry and make sure the promised by the minister is delivered.
