EDP ​​Renováveis ​​sells two wind power projects in Brazil to the Norwegian state-owned company for €300m

EDP ​​Renováveis ​​has reached an agreement with Statkraft, a Norwegian state-owned company, to sell a 260 MW portfolio in Brazil.

In the past 12 months, EDP, led by Miguel Stiluel de Andrade, has installed 2.5 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity.

The portfolio consists of two wind projects in operation. The EDPR notes that the two projects “were commissioned in the past 12 months” and that the estimated “project value” is 1.57 billion riyals, equivalent to about 300 million euros.

The deal is still pending “pre-conditions, regulatory and other terms”.

The statement concludes that the operation “is part of the context of the €7 billion asset recycling program for the period 2023-2026 announced at EDP’s Capital Markets Day in March 2023, allowing EDP to accelerate value creation and recycling of capital for reinvestment.” in profitable growth.
