The national team of Ukraine and Belgium tied 0-0, in the final match of Group E of the European Football Championship 2024. With this result and a draw in the other group match between Slovakia and Romania, the Belgians qualify for the round of 16. He was excluded from the competition. Belgium started a little better with more possession and after the seventh minute there was a great chance for Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker had a shot blocked near the Anatoly Trubin Stadium. Ukraine's response came shortly after with a powerful shot from Roman Yaremchuk, which was blocked twice by Belgian goalkeeper Koen Casteels. Belgium started to press again and Kevin De Bruyne caught Tropin by surprise. A long free kick from the Manchester City midfielder, who crossed the ball and reached Tropin at the opposite corner, but the ball went wide of the goal. The match ended goalless in the first half in Stuttgart, although both teams actually had good scoring chances. In the second half, Belgium came back strong again and came close to scoring. Jeremy Doku passed the Ukrainian defender well and sent a low cross, but the ball crossed the area to the Trubin goalkeeper. In the 73rd minute, a wonderful save from Tropin prevented Belgium from scoring the goal. A powerful shot from Ferreira Carrasco was well blocked by the Ukrainian goalkeeper. In stoppage time, Ukraine was close to qualifying. Sudakov passed several players and gained space, but shot past the Castels keeper. In the Round of 16, Romania will face the third in Group C (Slovenia) or the fourth (Netherlands), and Belgium will play France, with the winner facing Portugal in the quarter-finals, and Slovakia will face Spain or England.
