Galp has announced the return of Galp Startup The Future, an innovation competition that represents an opportunity for startups and startups to present solutions that contribute to Galp's transformation strategy and respond to the challenges of the energy transition.

The Open Innovation Competition has open applications until September 10, and the winning startups will be integrated into Galp's innovation ecosystem, with the opportunity to connect to the Corporate Venture Capital team with the possibility of developing a fully funded pilot project in a geographic area where Galp operates.

Moreover, startups will be able to participate in Web Summit 2024, where they will present their proposals to the largest technology community on the planet.

Artificial intelligence and blockchain to enhance the fuel value chain. Evaluate the use of digital technologies to improve the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of energy infrastructure, particularly in relation to biofuels and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Advanced construction techniques and operational excellence for renewable energy sources. It seeks projects that integrate cutting-edge technologies for the design, installation and management of renewable assets.

Next generation industrial efficiency and thermal decarbonisation. Focus on commercial applications that combine artificial intelligence and technology to decarbonize heat and improve energy management.

Energy solutions for emerging markets. Dedicated to ideas that promote access to more sustainable energy for populations in emerging markets.

Leading hosting, mobility, and connectivity solutions. In partnership with BMW and Mini, the sector explores cutting-edge innovations that enhance the mass of electric charging infrastructure.

Launched in 2021, Startup the Future, an initiative of Galp Upcoming Energies, is the open innovation platform that brings Galp's business units and innovation centers into contact with entrepreneurs from around the world, with a backlog of more than 400 applications from 54 countries.
