German TV reporter smeared himself with mud and lost his job

She didn’t want such clean clothes. So she smeared herself with mud. Now she is fired.

During a feature of the flood disaster in the German city of Bad Münsterfeil, journalist Susanna Olin felt that her clothes were very clean.

She was in the field covering the flooded areas good morning germany in a RTL TV channels.

Before standing in front of the camera, she bends down, her clothes and face covered in mud. The Independent writes.

The reporter herself apologized for what she had done. “Fatal error”, you name it in one statment.

She also writes that she was ashamed to wear clean clothes.

«Having been a regular person who had already helped in the area the previous days, I was ashamed that morning to think of other helpers to pose in front of the camera in a clean hood».

She admits that she didn’t think about it until she got her clothes muddy. She also apologizes and says that as a journalist she should never have done this.

She made this statement on both Facebook and Instagram.

After the incident, she was first hung and taken off the screen.

An approach that goes against the principles of journalism and our own standards. So we gave it a comment on Monday after we heard about it.”

Ohlen has been working on the channel since 2008.

On Thursday, the channel issued a statement in which it clarified that Susanna Olin is no longer working with RTL. Writes independent.
