Police have announced the death of a four-year-old girl after what police describe as a dog attack in Milton Keynes, England.
This is what the news channel writes Sky News.
He went on the offensive
Police were called by the Ambulance Service at around 5pm on Tuesday following reports that a dog had attacked a child on an estate in Netherfield, Milton Keynes.
Shortly thereafter, it was confirmed that a child had died in the accident.
Officers at the scene are said to have euthanized the dog, and no one else was reportedly hurt. To date, no one has been arrested in connection with the investigation.
The child’s family is now being followed up by the local authorities.
A tragic accident
Matt Bullivant of the local police commented on the death on Tuesday.
– This is an incredibly tragic incident where we believe a child was killed after being attacked by a dog, he says.
“We are clearly in the early stages of the investigation and it would be wrong and unhelpful to speculate on the exact circumstances surrounding this incident at this time,” Bullifant continues.
Double gang murder
It remains unclear what exactly happened in the time before the girl’s death was announced, and the police officer is now making an appeal to the local community:
Anyone with concerns should feel free to approach our officers and ask questions, but I encourage people not to speculate on circumstances, especially on social media platforms, he says.
“I understand the impact this has on the community and people can expect to see a significant police presence in the area this evening and beyond as our investigation continues,” Bullifant added.
