Fenix Toulouse Handball Central was the latest in focus for the national team
The exchange of the injured Martim Costa for Gonzalo Vieira was new on Monday in the Portuguese handball team’s position in Rio Mayor, just days away from competing in the Tunisia championship.
Gonzalo Vieira currently plays as a midfielder for Phoenix Toulouse Handball Club, in the French Handball Championship.
The Portuguese national team will be in Rio Mayor for two days, then leave for Tunisia to compete for the 2023 Kimba Cup.
The Portuguese national team will conduct two training sessions on Tuesday, before leaving for Tunisia on Wednesday morning, and will play its first match on Thursday, against Austria.
Paulo Jorge Pereira’s men will play in Hammamet, where they will face host country Tunisia, Switzerland and Austria between November 2 and 4.
As is the case with Portugal, Switzerland and Austria will compete in the next European Championship in 2024.
Portugal will compete in Group VI of Euro 2024 alongside Denmark, the Czech Republic and Greece, in the event that will be held in Germany during the period from January 10 to 28 next year.
