The photo was taken on the day the baby turned one year old, around the same time the rest of the family celebrated Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee in London.
A new photo of Lilipt Diana, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan Markle, was shared on Monday.
Photographer Maisan Harriman shared the photo on Instagram, and it was taken on Saturday the day the baby turned one.
“It was an honor to celebrate Lillipet’s first birthday with my family and yours! Joy is everywhere,” the photographer wrote in the caption to the post, which was accompanied by another photo of the girl.
Queen Isabel II, who on that day was celebrating the third of four days due to the Platinum Jubilee, was not present. For the rest, like the Queen, none of the royals’ most important members attended the children’s party, keeping the long-seeming distance between Harry and Meghan and Buckingham Palace.
According to Vogue, the party was “intimate and spontaneous,” with close family and a few friends, including Harry’s cousin, Zara Tindall, who was accompanied by her husband, Mike, and their children.
Meanwhile, in London, Princes Charles and William, accompanied by women Camilla and Kate, celebrated the Queen’s platinum jubilee, which on Saturday saw a magnificent concert attended by 10,000 people.
This is one of the few known photos of the baby, who met the rest of the family this weekend, in what was a breach of protocol on the part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and was not well received by the royal family.
