Health will conduct an active search to verify children’s vaccination records

Votorantim City Hall will promote active search for children under 3 years of age who are late for vaccinations. The work will be carried out in six municipal early childhood education centers by specialists from the Epidemiological Surveillance Sector of the Ministry of Health.

In practice, the child will receive the vaccination card on the day scheduled to visit the health professionals. If a missing vaccine is identified, staff from the epidemiological surveillance sector will deliver a notification addressed to parents or guardians so that the dose can be administered at a reference basic health unit (UBS).

The first event will be held on September 12, at 8:30 a.m., at the Children’s Education Center of the Municipality of Margaret Guerra (Cmei), located in Río Acima. Parents or guardians of children will be notified in advance by the Ministry of Education to bring their vaccination card on the agreed date and time.

It is expected that the vaccination records of about 600 children will be verified. The project aims to promote the importance of the vaccine and encourage parents or guardians to actively participate in the process.

Epidemiological surveillance also aims to have greater control over knowledge of the vaccination status in the school community. The idea is to ensure that the child is immunized and is not a source of infection for transmitting diseases.
