Helena Freitas, Country Leader of Sanofi Portugal and a former FEP student, was recently featured by the magazine Forbes Portugal As one of the five most powerful women in the healthcare category, this prestigious recognition highlights her inclusive and compassionate leadership, innovative mindset, visionary approach to the sector and commitment to investment and sustainability in healthcare in Portugal.

Helena Freitas expressed her pride in this appointment, emphasizing the importance of the team that accompanies her at Sanofi. “For me, this appointment is a great honor and an encouragement to continue to affirm Sanofi’s goal of using the power of science to improve people’s lives. Helena Freitas holds a degree in Economics from FEP and an MBA from AESE Business School. She started her career at Ernst & Young, where she stayed for five years, before moving to the pharmaceutical industry at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she held various positions for 12 years. In 2016, she joined Sanofi as Director of Market Access and Public Affairs, after being appointed General Manager of the Vaccines Unit, and in 2022, as Leader of Sanofi Portugal.

This recognition is further evidence of Helena Freitas’ impact on the healthcare sector and the pivotal role she plays in developing more sustainable and inclusive solutions.
