Helena Isabel Patricio, interviewed by María Botelho Muñiz, on the TVI program “Goucha”, recalled one of the most sensitive phases of her life. Commentator “Big Brother” was moved to remember that she had to have an abortion at her boyfriend’s request.
“I finished college, went to work in a bank, and was doing pretty well. I met someone, we fell in love and ended up living together. With this person, I planned everything that I didn’t plan with the rest,” he recalls, emphasizing that the couple wanted to have children and that the child was, Helena believed, desired by them both.
“I got pregnant with him and it was an idea and a desirable son. I never really envisioned the involvement of someone who didn’t want to be a father. My son was thinking about them, and it was required of both of them,” he affirmed. .
“When I took a pregnancy test, he wasn’t there, I texted him saying, ‘Hi, Dad. It was the worst thing…’ He came home pale and said, ‘I’m not going to have this baby,'” he recalls, unable to hide his feelings.
Helena, who was 25 at the time, ensures that she does not regret her decision and explains why: “He didn’t want to and I don’t have that right, I can’t ascribe paternity to someone who doesn’t want to.” My son cannot be born with a father who does not want to be a father.”
