Helldivers 2 now has a limit on the number of simultaneous players

Arrowhead, the developer behind Helldivers 2, has taken steps to resolve server stability issues by temporarily limiting the number of concurrent players to 450,000. In a message shared in the game's Discord community, the team acknowledged continued difficulties as the number of players increases.

Despite efforts to mitigate some of the causes of the issues, the team continues to work hard to resolve them. Despite these efforts, a recent spike in the number of concurrent players has led to server-related issues such as mission errors and disconnections. As a result, Arrowhead has imposed a cap on the number of concurrent players to improve server stability.

Players experiencing progress issues are advised to restart the game to properly sync their progress. The team thanks the players for their patience during this period.

This decision comes after Arrowhead's recent apology for server capacity issues and its promise to compensate players with a 50% bonus on experience and requests. Despite these issues, the number of concurrent players in Helldivers 2 on Steam has continued to increase, surpassing 330,000 users over the weekend, making it the most significant Steam release on PlayStation to date. Previously, Sony Santa Monica's God of War reboot held the record with 73,529 concurrent players.
