“I don’t support Shiga,” Carolina Deslands said after an exasperated speech

FDuring a concert in Rio Tinto, Carolina Deslands drew public attention to some of the social problems of our time. In a clearly angry speech, the artist said:

“I consider it urgent that we should sell our whole country, pay exorbitant rents and beg for a good life in a country like ours.

I find it even more outrageous that they are throwing the homeless off the streets because the pope is coming and pretending that poverty does not exist. Poverty exists and everyone’s responsibility. Those who rule cannot think of people being swept like rubbish under the rug.

We need to speak up and say we care about the country we live in. We need to go vote, we need to inform ourselves and put an end to this nonsense that makes us guests in our house. Enough of this nonsense. We have to fight for the right to dignity and housing.”

This Tuesday, July 18th, using Stories on her Instagram page, the singer made a new clarification: “I do not, and will not support, ever support Chiga. They are using my image to associate me with a party that cannot be further from my convictions. The speech in question is from a concert in Rio Tinto. That was it.”
