The city of Évora will welcome another step in IKEA's expansion across the country. During the spring of 2024, the Swedish retailer will open a new planning studio in the capital of the Alentejo region.

“In accordance with the expansion strategy in Portugal and with the continued commitment to getting closer to the Portuguese, IKEA announces the opening of its first planning studio in Alentejo, in Évora,” IKEA Portugal wrote in a statement.

The Swedish retailer also reveals that “this new opening will take place this spring, and reaffirms its commitment to providing innovative and affordable solutions to meet the needs of Portuguese people across the country.”

The location of the new store is not yet known, but following the recent opening of the planning and ordering studio in Viseu, this becomes the retailer's 13th store in Portugal.

“Planning studios are currently the main expansion tool for IKEA in Portugal. We want to be increasingly closer to the Portuguese and seek to have touchpoints throughout the country,” says Francisco Ferreira, IKEA Market Manager.
