Immunization against influenza and measles in Belo Horizonte, so far, has little popular support. The vaccination rate against influenza was 18.7% and measles was 15.4%, according to the municipality. The Ministry of Health recommends vaccinating at least 90% of the recalled group for influenza and 95% for measles.

On last Saturday alone, the D day of the vaccination, 32,000 doses of the two vaccinations were given, 19,027 against influenza and 12,992 against measles.

At the beginning of this week, PBH started another phase of its influenza vaccination campaign, to expand its target audience. Now pregnant women and purperas can be vaccinated; the original people; teachers; Persons with comorbidities and permanent disabilities; Security and rescue forces, armed forces, truck drivers, public transport workers, long-distance roads and commuters.

Specialists called to receive the vaccine in this new phase must submit a document proving the function performed. Those with comorbidities and permanent disabilities must also submit a medical report or examination to confirm the condition. Purperas must provide the birth certificate, the pregnant woman’s card, or the document issued by the hospital where the birth took place.

In addition to this new audience, the vaccine will continue to be made available to seniors aged 60 and over, health workers and children 6 months to 5 years old.

Vaccination against influenza in the capital is carried out in health units, additional centers and command points, as well as in the pharmacies of Arago and Druja Clara for the elderly.

The PBH has already recalled all groups identified by the Ministry of Health as priorities to receive the measles vaccine, including children aged 6 months to 5 incomplete years and all health workers.
