A 31-year-old woman was arrested last week in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
She is charged with murder after her 16-month-old daughter, Jillene Candelario, was found dead.

The woman had been on vacation for ten days in Puerto Rico and Detroit — and the girl was left alone in the apartment, according to police.

On the Cleveland Police website, they write that on June 16 they went to a city apartment.
Upon arrival, paramedics were at the scene. They wrote that a one-year-old girl had been declared dead.
They wrote that the girl had no visible injuries, but a forensic examination showed that she was “severely dehydrated.”
The investigation showed that the child was abandoned for about ten days and died, according to the police report.
The next day, the girl’s mother was arrested.
It is not known how she would react to the question of guilt.

Authorities are now awaiting the results of Jaylen Candelario’s autopsy, so that the exact cause of death can be determined.
