Lidl scores a great goal and opens a store in a football stadium – Marketeer

Continuing its investment in Lisbon, Lidl Portugal opens a store in Estádio do Restelo. The project, with an investment of about 12 million euros, included the rehabilitation of the sports complex and its surrounding areas, as well as the creation of a garden on the roof of the building, integrated into the surrounding area.

This is the 16th Lidl store in central Lisbon and will be open daily between 8am and 9.30pm, reinforcing the concept of proximity.

Promoting environmental concern and paying particular attention to the urban context, the project also included the creation of the store's roof garden: a green space for public use, allowing residents and users of the sports complex not only a new pedestrian path connecting with Rua dos Jerónimos, but also a new green area for leisure and rest. An external staircase connecting Avenida do Restelo and the stadium was also rebuilt.

“The opening of the Lidl store at Estádio do Restelo marks a very important milestone for the present and future of Belenenses as we see it as the beginning of the modern era for our club and our infrastructure. This project benefits not only Belenenses and its partners, but also the surrounding community, contributing to improving the quality of life of thousands of people. “In Lidl, Belenenses has found the ideal partner, with managers who understand the history and challenges the club faces, and who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to progress and a constructive spirit.” Belenenses.

Regarding the social responsibility strategy, the store will cooperate with Re-Food, through its Realimenta program, which delivers products daily, by donating items in ideal conditions for consumption, hygiene and safety, to those who need them most, through cooperation with several parties.
